WELL CHILD health assessments

Well Child Health Assessments are provided at the Lawrence-Douglas County Health Department, 200 Maine St., Lawrence.

The Health Department offers wellness screenings for:

• Children 0 to age 5 without health insurance.
• Children up to age 8 who are first-time Kansas school entrants and without health insurance.

Children with coverage such as Healthwave or Medicaid and children who are covered by their parents’ private insurance for well child exams will be instructed to call their health care provider for wellness appointments.

Services include:
• Physical assessments, including vision and hearing screenings
• Developmental evaluation
• Laboratory tests
• Immunizations
• Counseling on nutrition, health and safety
