LAWRENCE – Beginning Monday, Aug. 2, COVID vaccinations will be available on a walk-in basis Monday through Friday at Lawrence-Douglas County Public Health with no appointment necessary.

Registration codes for a vaccine appointment are no longer needed, and anyone 12 and older can walk-in from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday at the Clinic on the first floor of the Community Health Facility, 200 Maine St. Pfizer vaccines are available or anyone 12 and older, and Johnson & Johnson vaccines are for anyone 18 and older.

“We are excited to offer access to the vaccines throughout the day to those who are still needing to get vaccinated or complete their vaccine series,” said Clinic Officer Supervisor Brittanie Sinisgalli.

Masks are required for anyone 2 and older coming to the clinic. The vaccination consent form for parents of children and other information about the COVID vaccine is available at LDCHealth.org/COVIDVaccine.

Individuals who receive the Pfizer vaccine will still receive notification from LDCPH to come for their second dose 21 days after their initial dose.

As of July 28, 67,587 Douglas County residents age 12 and older, which is 64% of the eligible population, had received at least one dose of the vaccine, and 60,540 people, or 57% of the eligible population, have completed their vaccine series.

LDCPH is offering several vaccine clinics in the community through the end of August. Check LDCHealth.org/Calendar for the full list, and any business or organization interested in having a vaccine and testing clinic on site can submit a form online at LDCHealth.org/COVIDClinic.

“We know that it is important to help the rest of our community get vaccinated during this critical time with the Delta variant circulating in the region. We certainly want to be out in the community especially through August with schools starting,” said Linda Craig, Director of Clinic Services.
