[ARCHIVED] Administrative Offices now offer kiosk system to connect visitors

The reception area of the Health Department’s administrative office now includes a kiosk system to connect clients, visitors and community members with the specific staff member who can help them.

The kiosk system on a tablet allows visitors to pre-select a reason for their visit, including a meeting with a staff member, package delivery, a septic and well inspection, childcare licensing or a payment. Then the software will direct visitors to a list of staff members who can help them, and upon selection a staff member will receive a message to come meet the visitor.

“The new system will allow our visitors to quickly connect to a person who can help them with their service need or question about public health,” Director Dan Partridge said. “We work every day to find ways to improve the efficiencies in offering our services to the public.”

The administrative offices are on the second floor of the Douglas County Community Health Facility, 200 Maine St. The Clinic on the first floor of the Community Health Facility remains staffed with a front desk, and clients can also use the Online Check-In App via QLess to join a line for Nursing Clinic Services or the STI Clinic.
