Statement from Dan Partridge, Director, Lawrence-Douglas County Public Health:
Lawrence-Douglas County Public Health has been notified by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment it will be able to send Douglas County 600 replacement Johnson & Johnson doses for next week. The doses will replace 570 doses that had to be discarded earlier this week when they were transferred in their refrigerated state to LMH Health and then frozen.
Johnson & Johnson is received refrigerated and distributed to providers in that state. For members of the public who received Johnson & Johnson vaccine this week and might have concerns, contact your provider who administered the vaccine.
We are grateful for KDHE’s understanding and assistance in this matter as well as all the work of our Unified Command partners, LMH Health, Douglas County and the City of Lawrence, among others, as we continue to vaccinate as many eligible people in Douglas County as efficiently and quickly as we can.
