Douglas County Unified Command leaders on Friday announced plans for the next two weeks to continue making progress on vaccinating those eligible in Phases 1-4.
For the week of April 12, leaders will re-evaluate progress made on Phases 3-4 to determine allocations for those in Phase 5.
“People with medical conditions that make them particularly vulnerable to complications and death due to COVID-19 have been patiently waiting for their turn to get vaccinated, and we want the opportunity to make progress with this group of individuals,” said Lawrence-Douglas County Public Health Director Dan Partridge.
The Douglas County Vaccine Interest Form currently includes about 2,331 people who have identified in Phase 2 and more than 11,000 people eligible in Phases 3-4, which includes people ages 16 and 64 with a preexisting medical condition and other non-healthcare workers in critical infrastructure. Phase 5 under the state vaccination plan includes anyone ages 16 to 64.
Lawrence-Douglas County Public Health expects an increase in allocation from the state next week and will receive about 4,680 vaccine doses. Unified Command leaders continue to ask for patience as it will take the next several weeks to work through the remaining phases.
As of March 25, among data from LDCPH, Heartland Community Health Center, Haskell Indian Health Services and LMH Health, 35,101 people in Douglas County have received their first dose of the vaccine.
