Baby Steps through LDCPH provides pregnant and parenting adolescents with intensive case management services to assist in identification and utilization of personal, social, and community resources. Free! Provided at no cost to you.

Personal Visits Include:

  • Perinatal and parenting support
  • Use of Growing Great Kids® Curriculum
  • Monthly family time events
  • Development screenings for babies using ASQ-3 and ASQ:SE-2
  • Personal visits to your home based on your schedule

Eligibility

  • Douglas County residents, age 21 or younger.
  • Enrollment prenatally up to 12 months after delivery.

Goals

  • Improve outcomes of adolescent and teen pregnancy for parents and their children
  • Increase levels of self-sufficiency and goal directness relating to parents' futures and the child's future.
  • Encourage delay of subsequent childbearing

A program funded through the Teen Pregnancy Targeted Case Management grant from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment.
